Temple Story & Sacred Significance
Four Gateways, One Eternal Truth
चार द्वार, चार वेद, एक केंद्रThe four gateways of this temple correspond to the four Vedas — Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda — the four great streams of sacred knowledge through which Sanatan Dharma flows. A devotee may arrive through any gate, by any path — through Jnana, through Bhakti, through Karma, or through Shakti upasana — yet every path leads to the same center, the same Mother. Seated at the heart of this temple, Maa Raj Rajeshwari Tripura Sundari, Maa Durga, and Maa Lakshmi — the three expressions of Adi Shakti — bestow upon the devotee what the Vedas themselves promise: knowledge, liberation from fear, and the grace that sustains all creation. Around them, Shiva, Ganesha, Hanuman, and Shri Ram stand as the eternal guides — pointing every sincere heart back toward Dharma, seva, bhakti, and the righteous life. Thus it has always been in Sanatan Dharma — the forms are many, the names are many, the gates are four — but the truth at the center is one. As the Rigveda itself declares: "Ekam Sat Viprah Bahudha Vadanti" — Truth is one; the wise speak of it in many ways.
Seated at the center, Mother Tripura Sundari, Mother Durga, and Mother Lakshmi bestow blessings of knowledge, power, and prosperity, respectively. Subsequently, Shiva, Ganesha, Hanuman, and Shri Ram guide the devotee along the paths of righteousness, service, devotion, and moral rectitude.
Thus, every devotee arriving from any of the four directions ultimately experiences the same singular truth: "Ekam Sat Viprah Bahudha Vadanti" — Truth is one; the wise call it by various names.
"एकं सत् विप्राः बहुधा वदन्ति"
— Truth is one; the wise call it by various names
